JR Valrey, The People’s Minister of Information in Oakland, California and the host of BlockReportRadio.com. Strongly influenced by Malcolm X and the Black Panthers, JR is a powerful and uncompromising voice against police brutality and unaccountability, what he calls “police terrorism” in urban working class communities of color in the U.S.

JR came into the KPFK studio with Cynthia McKinney and I recorded this disucussion with him then. He was in L.A., down from Oakland, because he had organized the west coast tour for former congresswoman, Cynthia McKinney, and we really appreciate the work he did to help bring her to Los Angeles and California.
